Sand & Dust Test Chamber – MIL 810F & MIL 810G

The MIL sand & dust chamber is designed specifically to simulate desert environments for the testing of military equipment and devices. Inside the test space the dust is blown as per MIL-STD-810G Method 510.5 Procedure-I with a dust concentration of 10 + 7 g/m3 with air velocity of minimum 1.5 m/s up to 8.9 m/s. While the sand is blown as per MIL-STD-810G Method 510.5 Procedure-II with a sand concentration of 0.18 g/m3 to 2.2 g/m3, with an air velocity of 18-29 m/s.
The sand and dust feeders are automatically controlled based on the dust concentration level set in the controller. The air velocity is controlled using a VFD. The humidity can be set to maintain <30% RH. All these parameters can be programmed using the envicom Graphite colour touchscreen using Siemens SIMATIC controllers.

The 1000 L chamber has temperature range between 23°C to 90°C. The interior of the chamber is built with 304 grade stainless steel treated for erosion resistance and high temperature application to avoid creep failure. The exterior body is made of GI with electrostatic powder coating offering high wear resistance. It’s all systems as well as the sub-systems are shielded to provide protection from sand and dust particles. The test space is fitted with externally controlled turn table to rotate the specimen in any direction which could bear a weight up to 150 kg. The viewing window in test space is provided with wipers for user to view the specimen under testing.

Sand & Dust test chamber comes with all basic as well as advanced features to offer an un-parallel testing experience for the user.

  Features Benefits
Test Space 304 grade SS treated construction.

Externally controlled turn table with weigh bearing capacity of up to 150 kg

Test space has single door with lockable handle and with viewing window (approx. 400 mm x 400 mm) fitted with wiper.

2 port holes(125 mm ∅) are also provided.

Offer erosion resistance as well as ideal for high temperature applications without creep failure.

Turn table helps to rotate the specimen in whichever direction required.

Wiper helps to offer clear viewing of the specimen kept in test space during testing.

Port holes offer the flexibility to conduct live testing on the specimen.

Display System & Controller LED display cum touch screen controller is provided which displays and controls temperature, humidity, wind speed, dust concentration, test time etc.

The touch screen controller is provided with a PLC to program and control test operations. Ethernet port is also provided for PC control.

The colour intuitive LED touch screen and intelligent controller offer high flexibility to operate the chamber with ease and augments the testing experience
